(10 July 2014 – Hong Kong) China Aoyuan Property Group Limited ("Aoyuan" or the "Company", Stock Code: 3883), a renowned property developer in China, is pleased to announce that the Company has successfully acquired through auction a plot of high-quality commercial and residential land in Shaoguan, Guangdong for RMB 956 million. The total GFA is approximately 678,600 sq.m. at an average cost of approximately RMB1,408 per sq.m.. 

Situated at the intersection of Guangdong, Hunan and Jiangxi provinces, Shaoguan is a hub of commerce, politics, culture and transportation in the north of Guangdong, with a population of 2.8 million. It is also one of the nine regional core cities and six metropolitans under the development plan of Guangdong. With rich historical and cultural sites and natural landscapes, it is home to Nanhua Temple - where Nanzong Zen originated - and world natural heritage site Danxia Mountain, as well as Maba Man Ruins. The land parcel acquired is located at Wujiang District, the city centre of Shaoguan, offering a 3-km panorama view of Wu River. It is well located with a number of well-equipped facilities, namely Shahu Park which enjoys the reputation of "the Little Forest", Shaoguan Station of Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway, the key provincial Bei River Experimental Secondary School.

Establishing presence in Shaoguan for the first time, Aoyuan will capitalize on premium landscape and resources surrounding the site and integrate the Lingnan architectural and culture elements to create an iconic urban complex that combines offices and retail, residential and tourism facilities, including a tourist service centre, international business centre, Lingnan-styled street, sports park and high-end residences with Lingnan characteristics. The project will provide multi-functional facilities, enhancing tourist services and facilitating the development of tourism in Shaoguan.
