Date:2008/6/1 0:00:00

(June 1, 2008 – Guangzhou) "Library Scheme for Country Primary Schools: June 1st Charity Collection of Books and Stationeries", jointly organized by China Aoyuan and 21st Century Business Herald, was launched on June 1 in Nanguo Aoyuan, Guangzhou Aoyuan, Panyu Aoyuan, and Nansha Aoyuan respectively. City children were asked to prepare "love package", including first aid package and stationery package. All donations were collected by property administration companies, and delivered to the disaster areas by volunteers of 21st Century Business Herald. Started on June 1, the activity would last for a month. The activity has been strongly supported by children and their parents who live in each community of China Aoyuan. Children brought self-drawn pictures with books and stationeries. Those pictures and encouraging sentences expressed their sincere hopes that victim children could be self-motivated. Parents and on site workers were moved. Some children carefully read the pictures and news about disaster areas with the help of their parents. Some ran home immediately to fetch their treasurable toys. Some children brought series of books to the collection site. Some donated delicate stationeries to disaster-hit children. A child said he saw the ruined houses and injured children on TV. It was sorrow that the fellow children could not go to school. He gave them his favorite things wishing that they could return to school as quickly as possible. Parents said it is necessary for them to know more about country life. Comparing with the children in country, they would realize how happy and privilege they are. They would learn to treasure what they have now. Besides collecting donations, Aoyuan"s workers also handed out emergency and aid pamphlets for anti-earthquake. A practical lecture about formation of earthquake and skills of escape was provided. Since the occurrence of "5.12" earthquake, many sectors of society have offered their help to the quake-hit people. China Aoyuan has always regarded the social responsibility of corporation as an essential component of corporate culture, and been executing the obligations of corporate citizen. June 1 2008 was the first International Children"s Day after the earthquake. In order to bring the injured children out of the cloud of sorrow, Aoyuan and a domestically well-known finance media organization jointly made the Children"s Day meaningful. They brought the "love package" to disaster areas, delivering happiness to wounded children.
