On 12 January 2010, at the site of the large-scale comprehensive commercial center - Aoyuan Plaza, flags were fluttering to celebrate the event of “Panyu Disrict 10 billion of economic activity”. As one of the venue of this economic activity, Aoyuan Plaza held the grand foundation laying ceremony. Panyu District leaders such as Kangshou OU, Yongchan DAI, Xibo JIAN, Hong GONG, Hankun GONF, Huilan LIN, Zhi ZHOU, Shaoguo XIA, Jiaqi MO, management from China Aoyuan Property Group Ziwen GUO, Zining GUO, as well as the representatives from various construction, design and financial companies and cooperative partners in total over 200 people attended the event.
In the foundation laying ceremony, the Vice-Chairman of China Aoyuan Property Group, Mr.Guo Zi Ning said that the development of Aoyuan Plaza project corresponds to Panyu District Government’s policy of modernisation, and also in response to the livable urban and rural development strategies. For the project to achieve high quality, high selling price and high standards, Aoyuan will use advanced international concepts starting from the planning and designing stages. Aoyuan Plaza will become the top first-class large-scale commercial center in Panyu, Guangzhou and as well as in the Pearl River Delta region.
Chairman of the CPPCC Panyu District, Mr. Ou Kangshou said that the Aoyuan Plaza project is one of the key projects in Panyu District, all government departments and towns (streets) should give huge support and help to make this key project complete as scheduled, in order to bring economic and social benefits for the public as soon as possible. The significant contributions made by Aoyuan Group to the economy of Panyu for the past 10 years were also acclaimed by Chairman Ou. .
When the leaders picked up the shovel, laid the foundation stone for the Aoyuan Plaza, all the guests immediately greeted with cheers, and fireworks bloomed.
Aoyuan Plaza will be comprised of a large-scale shopping mall, commercial streets, offices and service apartments. It has a site area of approximately 90,000 sq.m. with a total GFA of 240,000 sq.m. It will be the largest with the most complete services offered to the publics, and the most representative commercial project in Panyu. This project can meet the needs of shopping, dining, culture, entertainment, leisure, sports, office and business.
Aoyuan Plaza, a total investment of approximately RMB3 billion, will become one of the most prosperous commercial centre in the Pearl River Delta region upon copmletion. It is believed that it will create many jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities. Part of the project will be completed by the end of 2010, and the whole project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2011. Success of the project is believed to create an “Aoyuan Plaza Effect”, which will affect the Peal River Delta and the whole nation. This plaza will become the symbol of Guangzhou, the first choice for sightseeing, leisure, and shopping.
