At 11 a.m., secretary Wan Qingliang and other leaders arrived Aoyuan Plaza under heavy rain. It comprises a one-stop modern shopping mall, international high-end apartments, a commercial walking street and hotels. It is the "tens of billions worth key construction project" receiving great support from the Panyu district government of Guangzhou. It is also the most representative integrated commercial project with the largest area and most comprehensive features, serving the broadest customer base.

As secretary Wan emphasized, the Guangzhou municipal party committee is pushing forward development, transformation and new urbanization of the city pursuant to the standardized approach designed by Hu Chunhua, secretary of Guangdong provincial party committee. As an emerging large scale commercial project in Panyu district, Aoyuan Plaza is of significance to the new urbanization and development of Guangzhou. Secretary Wan also expressed the wish of having a place like Aoyuan Plaza in every district of Guangzhou to provide convenience for citizen"s living and facilitate economic development.

Since its grand opening, Aoyuan Plaza has organized various community service activities such as "Aoyuan Plaza-Li Stage", kids events, teenage roller skating event and street dance event at the Plaza, with a view to provide better service for residents in the area.
